GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper, or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.1) Draw a rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the middle of the rectangle, draw one vertical and one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 3) Draw another horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle. 4) Draw a vertical line equally dividing the left half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a vertical line equally dividing the right half of the rectangle.

STEP 1. Determine the size of the sunflower you intend to draw. Using the simple geometric shapes, place the flowers and the stalks of the sunflower.
img
STEP 2. Specify the middle parts of the flowers with the circles, as well as the centres of these flower centre parts. You can use stippling technique for the centre of the flower. Mark the leaves and stalks position.
img
STEP 3. Using the violet circles show the upper border of the first row petals. Sketch up the leaves under a smaller flower.
img
STEP 4. To mark petal central lines use straight lines or curves.
img
STEP 5. Proceed to the petals detailed drawing. Make them look differently, so that the picture would be more realistic. Draw the leaves on the stalkes.

STEP 6. Draw the petals of the second row.

STEP 7. Draw the petals of the third row. We can see only their tips. Draw the stalks, add some leaves details.

STEP 8. Contour, trying to vary the thickness and blackness of the line. Do not forget to erase unnecessary lines and intensify your strokes. And your sunny sunflower is ready!
